Mexico City - One person was dead and another seven injured as a result of clashes between police and peasants in the town of Yajalon, in south-eastern Chiapas state, authorities announced yesterday. The conflict grew violent after peasants tried to occupy municipal buildings to protest a quota on shipments of harvested coffee, Chiapas prosecutor, Mr Eduardo Montoya, said.
