BELGRADE - Serbia's opposition yesterday claimed victories in major towns, including the capital Belgrade, in weekend municipal elections.

The opposition celebrated its wins over the ruling left«MDBO» «MDNM»wing coalition of the Serbian President, Mr Slobodan Milosevic, with a rally of 20,000 people. "We are here now, and we are here to stay," Mr Vesna Pesic, leader of the Civil Alliance, said.
