The 27-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing in the north side of Cork city this morning has been named as Peter Lynch from the Farranree area of Cork city.
Mr Lynch - who died in Cork University Hospital this morning - was found seriously injured in Fairfield Square, Farranree shortly after 2am.
Gardaí arrested a man (25) before 8am and he is being detained at Mayfield Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
