The Ulster Unionist Party has accused the 1970 Fianna Fail government of sponsoring "state terrorism" by allegedly funding and arming the IRA during the Arms Crisis.

A motion calling for an inquiry and apology from the Government over the arms affair won widespread support at yesterday's meeting of the Northern Ireland Forum in Belfast.

The motion was passed by an overwhelming 38 votes to one, the Northern Ireland Labour grouping opposing.
