The US military has said it will release five female prisoners when it releases a batch of 420 Iraqi prisoners today and tomorrow.
The release of all Iraqi women detainees was a condition for the release of US journalist Jill Carroll by her kidnappers, who have threatened to kill her unless their demands are met.
