TOKYO - Two US marines lost their appeals yesterday against prison terms for raping a schoolgirl in Okinawa, a case that ignited renewed protests against the presence of US military bases on the island.

Marine Private Rodrico Harp (22), was sentenced to seven years and Marine Private Kendrick Ledet (21), to 6 1/2 years in March for the abduction and rape of the 12 year old girl on September 4th last year. Navy Seaman Marcus (23), who was sentenced to seven years, has not appealed.
