Gardai in Galway investigating the death of supermarket employee Mr Malcolm O'Shaughnessy (22) last month are believed to have located two suspects in the United States.

Informal contact has been made between detectives at Mill Street station in Galway and police authorities in the US, which may lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.

Mr O'Shaughnessy was stabbed in Galway city early on August 1st, following a row between two groups of men. The victim is believed to have been trying to calm the situation when he was attacked.
