NASHVILLE – A Tennessee woman who was on death row for a quarter of a century for the contract killing of her husband was released from custody yesterday. Gaile Owens (58) was released from the Tennessee Prison for Women after being granted parole last month.

She had been convicted in 1986 of arranging to have her husband killed, and later said her husband had physically abused her. – (Reuters)
