WASHINGTON - The United States has cut off $40 million in aid to Belarus due to that country's human rights performance, the State Department spokesman, Mr Nicholas Burns, said yesterday.
"We have cut off $40 million in assistance to Belarus," Mr Burns told reporters. "The overall reason is lack of respect for human rights in Belarus."
