The Labour Party spokesman on justice, Mr Pat Upton, has criticised the Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue, for his failure to provide the £6 million needed to enforce the traffic laws. In a week when 13 people were killed on Irish roads, the Minister had maintained "a stony silence instead of giving the Gardai the modern technology needed to crack down on speeding . . ."
