Berlin - Police fired water cannon at demonstrators who hurled rocks and bottles at neo-Nazis rallying in Berlin in support of the new Austrian government yesterday.
Several hundred supporters of the fringe far-right National Democratic Party (NPD) gathered by the Brandenburg Gate in the centre of the city as about 1,000 counter-demonstrators screamed "Nazis out" behind a police cordon.
