FRANK McCourt, the writer of the controversial best seller, Angela's Ashes, was conferred with an honorary doctorate of letters at the University of Limerick yesterday. After the conferring he said he was delighted to meet so many of his friends, including the American Ambassador, Mrs Jean KennedySmith, and his three brothers Malachy, Michael and Alfie.
