United Drug upbeat for 2007

Healthcare services group United Drug chairman Ronnie Kells has forecast another good year for the company.

Healthcare services group United Drug chairman Ronnie Kells has forecast another good year for the company.

Speaking today in Dublin today, Mr Kells said that the company had made a good start to 2007 with profits for the first quarter ahead of the same period last year.

"Our new acquisitions are performing ahead of expectations, and we expect to make further progress during the year with our strategy of developing United Drug into a broadly based health care services group," he said.

Shares in the company were down 8 cents to €3.97 on the Irish Stock Exchange at lunchtime today.
