Union concerned for staff safety

SIPTU, which represents 600 staff at University College Hospital in Galway, claims that the Western Health Board has failed to create a safe environment for its employees. The union has written a strongly worded letter to hospital management following a recent violent incident in which a man brandishing a pair of scissors terrorised staff and patients.
