SIPTU began balloting Dublin ambulance personnel yesterday on possible strike action next month in support of a claim for pay parity with control room staff. Voting on the strike, which would only affect the cardiac ambulance service from April 21st, will continue until Wednesday. Fire brigade ambulances which deal with most accidents and emergencies are not involved in the dispute.
