The uncle of two-year-old Casey Leigh Mullen appeared in a Leeds court today charged with her rape and murder.
Michael Mullen (21), from Leeds, did not enter a plea at Leeds Magistrates' Court. He was remanded in custody until next Wednesday.
The toddler was found dead at her home in Gipton, Leeds, on Sunday. A postmortem found she died from "compression of the neck".
