NEW YORK - The UN Secretary General, Mr Kofi Annan, fired the chief administrator and deputy prosecutor of the Rwanda genocide court after a UN investigation found widespread mismanagement in the tribunal, a UN spokesman said yesterday.

The spokesman, Mr Juan Carlos Brandt, said chief administrator Mr Andronico Adede, of Kenya, and deputy prosecutor Mr Honore Rakotomanana, of Madagascar, submitted their resignations after meetings with Mr Annan in New York.
