This edition seems to be aimed mainly at students, since it contains many pages of explanatory notes, discussion of textual matters, and (I quote from the blurb) "two schemata showing symbolic and Odyssean correspondences". There is also a lengthy introduction and a history of the work's genesis and publication. The type face, however, is small and at times rather grey, making large tracts of the novel a little hard on the eyes, and certainly unrewarding visually. Also, could no better cover illustration be found than one of Richard Hamilton's chic and rather commonplace etchings?
