HMV’s administrators in the UK have bowed to public pressure and said they will accept gift cards at the collapsed music chain.
However, a spokesman for the receivers of HMV Ireland said its position had not changed and as all the shops were still closed. Amid a storm of protest from consumers, Deloitte yesterday said gift cards and vouchers will be redeemed in UK stores from today. However, a spokesman confirmed Irish customers would not be able to do so as shops remain closed.
