British police launched a murder hunt after the bound and hooded body of a man who had been stabbed to death was found beneath Beachy Head, the notorious south coast suicide spot.

Police said the man had died from multiple stab wounds and had a sealed plastic bag over his head and his hands and feet bound with tape.

The body was one of three found at the base of the 160 metre (524 feet) chalk cliffs on Friday afternoon by a police
helicopter patrolling the Sussex coastline.

Police said the other two deaths were not thought to be suspicious.

"They appear to have been washed in by the high tides and high winds of the last 24 hours," said a Sussex Police
spokesman.

Detectives said the stabbed man was black, in his early 30s, about 5ft 8 ins (1.72 metres) tall and had a full Afro hairstyle and a black beard.
