Jakarta - Britain's Foreign Office Minister, Mr Derek Fatchett, said yesterday he was hopeful that political changes in Indonesia could lead to a solution to the problem of East Timor.
Mr Fatchett had earlier met the jailed East Timorese resistance leader, Mr Xanana Gusmao, in a Jakarta prison and said that his release would facilitate negotiations.
