There has been a call for the sale of UK lottery slips to be banned in this State, and for 20 per cent of funds raised by the Irish national lottery to be given to charity.

Mr Seamus O Murchu, chairman of the Association of Charity Lotteries in Ireland (ACLI), also called for the lifting of "the unfair cap" on charity lottery prizes.
