New Delhi - Britain denied yesterday that it was pressing India for the release of a former British army officer who was sentenced to life imprisonment for his role in a mysterious arms drop five years ago.
A five-man air crew from Russia and Latvia who were sentenced along with Peter Bleach last February walked free from jail on Saturday after India accepted appeals from Moscow for clemency. There was no immediate word on Bleach - who has appealed against his sentence.
