Business investment in Britain rose at its fastest annual pace in nearly a decade during the final three months of 2006, official data showed today.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said business investment rose 3.3 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2006, leaving it 11.1 per cent higher on the same period a year ago - the strongest rate of annual growth since the end of 1998.
Investment was €32.421 billion in the three months to December, €1.023 billion higher than the previous quarter, the ONS said.
