A Tyrone man was remanded in custody when he appeared at a special court in Cookstown yesterday on charges arising out of an alleged punishment beating. Mr Raymond Larmour (38), an unemployed labourer of Ratheen Avenue, Cookstown, is accused of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm; false imprisonment; and having a baseball bat.

A detective constable told the court Mr Larmour replied No in answer to all the charges.
