Typhoon death toll reaches 455

HANOI - Vietnam stepped up relief efforts yesterday for victims of Typhoon Linda, which killed hundreds of people and left tens of thousands homeless when it raked the southern tip of the country last weekend. Updated figures showed that 455 people were confirmed dead and at least 2,500, mostly fishermen, were officially counted as missing. - (Reuters)
