Two Dundalk youths who committed more than 30 break ins between them were sentenced to a total of 118 years by the local circuit court yesterday.

The court was told that between November 1994 and March 1995 the first youth had committed 32 offences in Dundalk. Houses were ransacked, goods stolen and property damaged. Judge Patrick Smith said the defendant committed the crimes to feed a drug addiction. He sentenced him to two years for each offence, to run concurrently.

The second defendant was before the court on signed pleas relating to 28 offences. Judge Smith said he had abused drugs at school. Sentencing him to two years on each count, he recommended that he receive treatment for his addiction.
