Two women in a US embassy vehicle were shot dead in a midday carjacking on the western outskirts of Nairobi today.
Police confirmed five Americans were in the car when it was intercepted by the thieves.
The driver and an elderly lady who took too long to get out of the vehicle were shot and thrown out of the car.
"The two were confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital," a police spokesman said.
