Two teenage partygoers were injured during late-night violence in Derry.

The pair, dressed in military-style camouflage and face paint, were confronted by a group of assailants at Butcher’s Gate at around 10.30pm yesterday.

A 17-year-old was headbutted and hit over the head with a bottle. When his friend, aged 16, intervened, he was attacked by a woman with a bottle and another member of the group. They were treated at the medical centre at the Guildhall.

Detectives appealed for anybody with information to contact them.
