The Irish Seal Sanctuary has claimed that at least two grey seals have died as a result of the oil spill at the Whitegate refinery in Cork Harbour nearly three weeks ago.
The ISS, in a statement last night, accused Irish Refining of underplaying the ecological damage caused by the spill, which has also been blamed for the deaths of hundreds of birds along the shoreline.
