Two men were being questioned today over seizures of heroin and cocaine worth over €150,000 in Cork.

Two men were being questioned today over seizures of heroin and cocaine worth over €150,000 in Cork.

A 24-year-old man was arrested after officers seized a quantity of cocaine at Monaghan Road in Cork city. The intelligence led operation by gardai from four stations in the city seized cocaine with a potential street value of €140,000.

The man is being held at Bridewell Garda Station under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Earlier, a 45-year-old man was arrested after gardai seized heroin in the Blackrock Road area of the city. Gardai estimated the heroin seized could have a potential street value of €18,000.

The man is being held at Bridewell Garda Station under Section two of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.
