A 20-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Co Sligo today

A 20-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in Co Sligo today. The victim, a pedestrian, was struck on the N15 at Rathcormac at about 8.15am.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances and have appealed for witnesses. 

A 72-year-old man died yesterday afternoon when he was hit by a truck in Co Louth. The man died after the incident on Market Street, Ardee at about 2.10pm, according to gardaí

He was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda but was subsequently pronounced dead. Witnesses to the collision have been asked to contact gardaí in Ardee on 041-6853222.
