Two men are being questioned by gardai today following the shooting of a 16-year-old in north Dublin.

Two men are being questioned by gardai today following the shooting of a 16-year-old in north Dublin.

The teenager, who remains in a stable condition in Beaumont Hospital, was fired at as he walked with three friends through St Cronan's Close in Swords.

Two men, one carrying what is believed to be a shotgun, took park in the gun attack at 8.20pm last night.

Following a search of the area, a 16-year-old youth and 36-year-old man were arrested.

The pair are currently being detained at Swords and Malahide Garda Stations under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
