In Co Tyrone a 47-year-old man has died following a road collision this morning.

The man died when his Mitsubishi space-wagon left the Aghafad Road, near Strabane, at around 2am.

The police later named the man as Aiden O'Kane, from Aghafad Road, Dunnamanagh.

Yesterday evening a man in his 90's was killed when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a JCB.

The collision happened shortly after 5.30 pm at Searmore, Coole, Co Westmeath.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have named the woman who died after a crash involving a car and a minibus in Co Donegal yesterday afternoon.

She was Nuala Friel (85) from Dunaff, Clonmany, Co Donegal.

No other vehicles were involved and police appealed for witnesses.
