Jakarta - Two died in fighting at an East Timor mountain shrine, including a man who tried to erect a banner bearing the guerrilla movement Fretilin's flag, military sources said yesterday. A pilgrimage to the top of the territory's highest mountain, the 2,963 metre Mount Tatamaileu, was to have been led by East Timor's two Roman Catholic bishops. They cancelled the visit after the clash.
