Two of the people held in connection with the murder of British student Meredith Kercher arrived at court today for a hearing that will decide whether to release them from jail.

Ms Kercher (21) was murdered on November 1st in Perugia, Italy. She had her throat slit and police said there was evidence of a violent sexual encounter.

Raffaele Sollecito (23) and Amanda Knox (20) were arrested on November 6th and remanded into custody three days later.

Another man, Rudy Hermann Guede (20), was arrested on November 20th in Germany, where is awaiting awaiting extradition.

Congolese bar owner Diya "Patrick" Lumumba (38) was arrested on November 6th and was released from prison last week, but he remains a suspect.
