Two men have appeared in court in connection with a robbery in Wicklow in which a shopkeeper was killed earlier this week.

John Byrne (18) Croghan Heights, Arklow, and Anthony Farrell (19), Marian Villas, Arklow were charged at a special district court sitting last night with stealing €150.

Father-of-two John Deasy (44) was stabbed to death on Wednesday evening at his shop on Coolgreaney Road, Arklow.
