Two men were being questioned by gardai yesterday in connection with the double robbery of two elderly farmers in Aughrim, Co Wicklow, two weeks ago. The men, in their early 20s, were arrested at their homes in Hacketstown, Co Carlow, early yesterday morning.

Mr Andy Kingston (77), who lives with his brother, Tom, at Killballyowen, near Aughrim, was shot in the knee during the second robbery when two hooded raiders stole £4. Four days previously, the Kingstons hid £12,000 of money stolen
