A man has been hospitalised and two people arrested following a serious assault in Tallaght last night.
The victim (40) suffered serious injuries in the attack shortly after 8pm in an apartment at Uppercross Court, Old Blessington Road.
He was taken to Tallaght hospital where the extent of his injuries are unknown.
A man aged in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were arrested at the scene and are being held at Tallaght Garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardaí have preserved the scene pending a technical examination.
