A man and a woman were being questioned tonight after drugs squad officers seized seven kilograms of cannabis in two separations operations.

A 52-year-old woman was arrested after three kilos was found in a search of a house in St Mary's Park. And a 21-year-old man was taken into custody after a van was stopped and searched in the same estate and four kilos recovered.

Both are being questioned under section two of the Criminal Justice Act in Henry Street Garda Station. The drugs are thought to have a street value of almost €50,000 and have been taken away for forensic examination.
