Two people were released overnight after being questioned in connection with the seizure of over €25,000 worth of drugs in a raid on a cannabis factory in west Cork.

Gardaí from Bandon raided a house in the Innishannon area at about 6am yesterday morning.

Officers seized cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €26,000 and arrested a man and a woman.

The two - who are in their 20s - were brought for questioning to Bandon Garda station. They were freed last night and a file is to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, a Garda spokesman said today.

Gardaí removed the plants and lighting equipment from the house for examination. The plants will be sent to the state laboratory in Dublin for analysis.
