Two men are due in court in Cork charged in connection with the robberies of two credit unions.

Two men are due in court in Cork charged in connection with the robberies of two credit unions.

The men, aged 21 and 36, will appear before Cork District Court this evening, a Garda spokesman said.

They are charged in connection with a robbery on October 30th at Bishopstown credit union in Cork and a second robbery in Togher yesterday.

In the first incident, a quantity of cash was stolen and two raiders allegedly fled the scene on a motorbike.

The second incident took place yesterday, November 6th at Lough credit union in Togher.

Two men wearing motorcycle helmets entered the credit union at about 4.18pm, a Garda statement said.

Two men were arrested near the scene of the second raid. A quantity of cash and an imitation firearm were recovered, gardaí said.
