Two fishing vessels detained

The Naval Service has detained two fishing vessels. The detentions include a German-registered Spanish vessel, Lady Beatrix

The Naval Service has detained two fishing vessels. The detentions include a German-registered Spanish vessel, Lady Beatrix. It was apprehended 160 miles west of Slyne Head by the LE Aisling.

Lady Beatrix was escorted into Castletownbere, Co Cork, yesterday and detained for alleged under-recording of catch.

Also yesterday, the LE Emer detained the French-registered fishing vessel, Izoard. It was stopped 90 miles northwest of Donegal for alleged failure to report in to the Fisheries Monitoring Centre, Ireland.
