Two men are due to appear in court today in connection with an arson attack on a house in Longford which left a young schoolgirl injured.

Both men, in the 20s, are due to be charged with causing damage to property and committing arson at Padraic Colum Heights, Longford town, on dates between September 30th and October 1st last.

At least one petrol bomb was thrown into the house, which is situated in a busy Longford town estate, causing extensive damage to the property and

The fire inflicted serious injuries on an 11-year-old girl, who was later treated in Our Lady's Children's Hospital, Crumlin, in Dublin.
