Two more men will appear in court today charged with the murder of a leading loyalist during a feud in Belfast nearly a decade ago.

The men (31 and 32) were charged last night with murdering Tommy English, who was shot dead in front of his wife and children in their home in the north of the city in October 2000.

The UDA man was one of several to die during a feud with the Ulster Volunteer Force.

The two men, who were also charged with membership of an illegal organisation and hijacking, will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court.

The accused and another man (32), who remains in custody, were detained by the Historical Enquiries Team, which is examining unsolved murders.

The 32-year-olds were detained in the Antrim area and the third man in Glengormley, Co Antrim.

Last week Darren Moore, from the Mount Vernon area of north Belfast, appeared in court charged with the murder of Mr English and membership of the UVF after being arrested by the Enquiries Team.

The previous week, loyalist Mark Haddock was taken from the top security Maghaberry prison in Co Antrim, questioned and charged with the murder by the HET.
