The Government has nominated Séamus Hughes and Brendan Toale for appointment by the President as judges of the District Court.
The appointments will fill the vacancies on the District Court bench created by the death of Judge Derek McVeigh and the retirement of Judge Oliver McGuinness.
Mr Hughes and Mr Toale were both educated at University College Dublin.
