Two men have died in separate crashes in the North, police said today.

A man in his late 20s was killed in a one-vehicle crash on the ring road in Coleraine just after midnight.

Earlier, a 20-year-old man died in a two-car collision on Ballyblack Road East in Newtownards. Two other men were injured in the crash, which happened at around 10.30pm.

The deaths take to 40 the number of people who have died on the roads in Northern Ireland so far this year.

Police have appealed for witnesses to both incidents.
