TWO deaths have occurred from meningitis within a week

TWO deaths have occurred from meningitis within a week. In the most recent case, a six year old girl, Natalie Moran, from Leinster Street, Phibsboro, Dublin, died after being admitted to Temple Street Hospital last weekend. She died a short time after being admitted to the hospital on Saturday morning, according to a hospital spokesman.

In the second case, a 22 month old child from Tullamore, Co Offaly, died from meningococcal septicaemia. The child had been admitted to Tullamore General Hospital with symptoms of the disease last week.
