Two men have been arrested after a man was attacked in Dublin city centre on Sunday night.
The victim, in his 30s, remains in critical condition in the Mater Hospital after the attack by a group of men on Great Strand Street, Dublin 1.
A Garda spokeswoman said this evening that following an appeal for witnesses two men were arrested today and taken to Store Street Garda Station for questioning.
They are being detained under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act and can be held for twelve hours.
