A TELEVISION set donated by Pye (Ireland) Ltd "to the amenities of Aras an Uachtarain" in 1956 was taken away for his personal use by the then President, Mr Sean T. O Ceallaigh, when he retired in 1959.

In a letter of thanks to the company's managing director, Mr James Digby, President O Ceallaigh said the set "has been a source of considerable interest and entertainment, and, I need hardly add, very much admired."
